My favorite subject...quilts, quilts, quilts!
I've been a quilt maker for about 9 years but still consider myself to be a beginner/intermediate quilt maker. There are so many extremely talented people out there...I just quilt because I love to. I'm not trying to set the world on fire, be well known within the quilting world, design my own patterns or fabric...nope, I just want to quilt! I'm getting ready to start my Dear Jane quilt, also known as a Baby Jane. I haven't yet decided whether I'll hand or machine piece, but hopefully after a few practice blocks, I'll have a better sense of it. Below are a few of the quilts I've made over the years. I tend to like wall hangings because they're quicker, so I get that "instant gratification". But I love full size quilts, of course, but have made only five of those so far. My second bed quilt was a queen sized nosegay I made for my Mom. It was also my first experience with set in pieces. Needless to say, I made several practice blocks before starting that! Among my current projects are a quilt for my Dad, a wall hanging for my sister with old hankies she's collected over the years, a logo wall hanging for a local coffee roastery, a couple of appliqué projects, and last but not least, 50 state blocks for a State Block swap I'm hosting for my cyber guild.
