HOW IT ALL BEGAN

A long, long, long, long, l ...o ...n .... g time ago, longer than anyone can remember, there was no world, no trees, no birds, no clouds, no people, no animals. There was nothing. Nothing but God.

God decided to change that. First He decided to create the heavens and the earth.

Then He said, "Let there be light." And there was light. Just His speaking the words made it so.

God created light

Can you imagine God's voice saying "Let there be light?" What do you think God sounds like when He speaks? Is His voice loud? Deep? Soft?

God saw the light and thought it was good. He called the light, Day and the darkness, Night.

God separated the earth into dry land and water. He called the water, Seas and the dry land He called Earth. God thought it was all very good.

Next, God made plants to grow on the earth. Plants of all kinds. Bushes, trees, grass, flowers, and vines. All this was good, too.

stars , sun and moon created

Next God made the stars, the moon and the sun. He made them to give light on the earth.

fish and birds created

God decided to add more life to the earth, so He made fish and all kinds of creatures to live in the water. How many kinds of sea life can you think of? Whales, crabs, shrimp, dolphins, eels, clams, oysters, are a few. He also made birds to fly in the air.

Then God made all kinds of living things to live on the land. What kind of animals do you think He made? How many animals can you name?

land animals created

God approved of everything He saw.

Still, God was not finished. He had one more creation left. He decided to make people. God made people to take care of all the things God had made. God made people to love God and to be loved by God.

After God made all these wonderful things, He rested.
