Happenings Around the World:  Polish-born John Paul II was the second John Paul appointed
Pope in less than one year.  Camp David Peace Accords between Israel's M. Begin and Egypt's
A. Sadat took place.  The first "test tube baby" was born in England.  In Guyana, the Reverend
Jim Jones of the People's Temple, lead 900 of his followers to a mass suicide.

In Sports:  Tom Landry lead his Dallas Cowboys to New Orleans to beat the Denver Bron-
cos in the Super Bowl.  Joe Namath retired.  Muhammed Ali, 36, beat Leon Sphinx to regain
his heavyweight boxing title.  Pete Rose signed a 3.5 million-dollar contract with the Phillies. And
a hometown horse with the name of "Affirmed" won the Triple Crown.
