COOL COFFEE LATTAS

  • 1 10-12 cup pot of your favorite flavored coffee, brewed strong and sweetened with 1/2 lb. sugar
  • 1 pint of sweet cream or half-and-half
  • Flavoring, if desired (see below)

  • Put the brewed coffee in a shallow glass dish and place in freezer until frozen.
  • Put about 2 cups of the frozen coffee and 1/2 pint of cream in a blender.
  • Blend until just mixed-it should be the consistency of slush.

  • For flavored Cool Coffee Lattas add one of the following before blending: 1/2 cup of chocolate syrup, 2 tbsps. mint, vanilla or almond extract, or 1/2 cup chocolate syrup and 1 tbsp. mint extract.

    COOL FRUITY LATTAS

  • 1/2 gallon of your favoite fruit juice
  • fresh fruit to blend with the juice (strawberries,peaches,mango-be ceative!)
  • 1 can of whipped cream

  • In a blender, puree the fresh fruit with the juice, working in small batches.
  • Pour the blend into a shallow freezer-proof glass dish, cover and freeze overnight.
  • To make the Cool Fruity Lattas, put about 2 cups of the frozen blend into your blender and blend just until it is the consistency of slush.
  • Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream.

  • Serves 2



    BEST EVER BREAKFAST SHAKE

  • 1 cup of skim milk
  • i cup of fat-free, sugar-free, fruit flavored yogurt (your choice)
  • 1 cup fresh fruit (your choice)
  • 1 tbsp. wheat germ or grapenuts cereal

  • Place all ingredients in a blender and whirl until smooth.

  • Makes 1 serving

  • Those of you not watching your weight can use whole or 2% milk and regular fruit flavored yogurt.

  • Also makes a great pick-me-up!
