TEMPTATION

Wait the day again for Temptation to knock,
Stare down the empty corridor, the door is unlocked,
Opened, and waiting for his return one day,
For Temptation always comes, he robs your soul away.

As I lie and wait and ponder about what I'll do,
Until I hear the steps approach from Temptation's shoes,
I will listen for the beat that he creates when he walks,
It tells me what to anticipate before he even talks.

Once he arrives and possesses the room,
He takes me by surprise, the passion is presumed,
The power he commands transfers over to me,
Unable to deny his request, I understand his plea.

For Temptation unveils his mood not only in his eyes,
He masquerades his feelings, but his spirit cannot lie,
He teams up with Seduction so you cannot turn away,
What a dreadful pair they make when together they do play.

As I grow impatient waiting for Temptation to knock,
I no longer wish to lie here just staring at the clock,
So I rest my weary head on the end of Passion's bed,
Succumbing to the dream of what Temptations lie ahead.
