THE SACRIFICE
This fiery beast threatens
our lives
Once again we must struggle
to survive
First hunted by man as
we roam the earth
Doesn't our life have
any worth?
When will the games of
man end?
Why can't humans comprehend?
That we are mere creatures
on this land
Struggling to survive
as God planned
Cornered and feeling
completely alone
Wishing our home were
made of stone
Could nothing penetrate
it then?
I fear we will never
be safe again
So I shed a tear for
man today
In hopes that he will
find his way
More tears I shed for
you and me
And for our friends that
death will see
So while we bide our
time and pray
And wait for God to light
our way
We know we must pay the
price
This time our lives are
the sacrifice
