The page for techies! :D

I went to this one interview for an IT job, I thought I will be a shoo-in to work there: the IT Manager says the IT field is fun which I agree with him, the job paid $13/hr to start, entry level, full time, had benefits, etc., go ahead and guess there was a lot of people standing in line all vying for that $13.00 IT job so the IT Manager couldn't decide on who to hire. For every opening, it's 300 applicants, and when interviewing, it's hard telling who your competition could be, it can be 20-30+ qualified and experienced techies all interviewing for that same IT job you are. Times are getting so terrible, depressing, and rough that laid off IT people are taking any IT work they can get their hands on even if the job pays $13.00 to $15.00 an hour which is entry level pay, but they are getting desperate for work and would take the $13-$15/hr IT job. Or temp work. It sucks. I know idiots all got families to support, mortgages or rent to pay, student loans, credit card, auto loan, etc., but, when is someone fresh out of school going to get their chance at an IT job?! We all got student loans and bills to pay, too! I have tried temp agencies and temp work is usually slow, have hardly any assignments, or will keep me on their availability calendar until a job order that fits me comes up. The state is hiring, like always, but they are getting to be very picky about who they want to hire and have been for years. I don't know what to do anymore. This is frustrating. Hours after hours spent on the computer looking for IT jobs pan out nothing.
