Help Upasana overcome Tetralogy of Fallot

AN APPEAL FOR HELP TO ALL FOR OPEN HEART SURGERY OF BABY UPASANA ( 1 YEAR 9 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER OF HAM RADIO OPERATOR AMITAVA SAHA, VU3RUN ) Update: The open heart surgery of baby Upasana (1 Year 11 Months) took place between 12 Noon and 4 PM on 3rd August 2004 - so far everything seems to have gone right. She will be under observation at the Intensive Care Unit for 72 hrs after which she would be shifted to the general ward of Narayana Hrudayalaya. The response from the Amateur Radio operators throughout India as well as abroad has been overwhelming. Ham Radio operators of Bangalore have co-ordinated the entire process, from getting discounts from the hospital and hotel, collecting donations, arranging accomodation and logistics and donating blood for Upasana. Upasana, daughter of Sri. Amitava Saha, VU3RUN has a congenital heart disorder called "Tetralogy of Fallot". Upasana is 1 yr 9 months old and requires urgent corrective open heart cardiac surgery. Amitava has a small printing business and cannot afford the cost of this surgery. Amitava is an active radio ham and has participated in many Amateur Radio Disaster Operations. Till date Amitava has been unable to gather enough funds for the surgery. However the surgery is urgently required and will have to be performed within a month under Dr. Devi Shetty at Narayan Hrudayalaya in Bangalore. The total cost involved for the surgery is around Rs.1,50,000. Please contribute whatever possible to save his daughter's life.
