  2. The official title of the sovereigns of Belgium is: King/Queen of the Belgians with the style Majesty.
By Royal Decree of December 16th, 1840 was stated that the title Duke of Brabant would be borne automatically by the eldest son of the King. By Royal Decree of October 16th, 2001 that provision has been altered. It now states that the eldest child of the sovereign will automatically bear the title Duke/Duchess of Brabant. By Royal Decree of September 10th, 1930 was stated that the title Count of Hainault would be borne automatically by the eldest son of the Duke of Brabant. By Royal Decree of October 16th, 2001 that provision has been abolished.
The members of the Royal Family bore the titles Prince(ss) of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Duke (Duchess) of Saxony. Following the end of World War I those titles were no longer used.
