Hermione's Corner
5/9/02 So, as I'm sure you've heard, the 5th book won't be released this summer. *sad* But at least we get the movie!! (May 28th) I've already pre-ordered my copy off of the official site, and I got a free snitch antenne topper. I'm special. Anyways, we'll survive. ~*monica*~ 4/10/02 I have integrated Harry Potter to my English class! Its a very funny story..read on.. So we're reading Dante's Inferno, which is about this guy named Dante, and in order for him to be "saved" from eternal life in Hell, he has to take a "tour" of the nine circles of Hell. So he's in the 7th circle where the violent are punished, and those who have committed suicide are transformed into trees and bushes. Dante goes and breaks off a branch of a tree, and it begins to talk. Now, everyone in my class is confused about how the tree talks, so I say, "maybe a voice just emerges from it." Everyone considers that, and moves on. So I mutter under my breath, "never trust anything unless you know where it keeps its brain." Now, if that isn't funny enough, my friend (not an HP fan) who is sitting next to my BURSTS OUT LAUGHING! I tried to explain the whole diary/Ginny/Riddle thing, but well, we were in the middle of English class. I just thought I would share that little funny story with all of you. 3/30/02 Wow, two updates within a month! Anyways, the page for the second movie is up!! And happy birthday to Robbie Coltrane, he's 52 today! (I saw it on the news). 3/20/02 Again, it's been two months. Sorry. Fiddler was great; we were sold out the week before the performance. Not much news in the HP world besides the Video/DVD release (May 28). Will update when major breakthroughs occur. The 2nd movie is supposed to come out in November, but ya know how accurate the dates are with this stuff... Well, not a whole lot else to say...-Webmistress 1/17/02 I am sooo sorry I haven't updated for so long. I have been EXTREMELY busy. I'm in my school's production of Fiddler On The Roof, and I've had pratice every night, and I haven't gotten home before 6 o' clock since school started again after break. I love this site a lot, but I really won't be updating a lot until more news on Book 5 comes out. Since the movie there hasn't been a lot of news, and so I have really haven't had anything to update. So, happy new year everybody, and keep reading!! 12/5/01 Sorry about that little tirade; I figured it out. I ended up starting over, and now I'm just stuck trying to defeat the troll on Halloween. No big deal; I'm just not strong enough. Soundtrack = GREAT! It's a great collection of classical music composed by John Williams. Unlike most soundtracks, it does not consist of pop songs that have extremely little to do with the movie; this soundtrack is the actual background music, and is a great introduction to classical music. ***** (five stars)lol. Oh yeah, new SN. Now I'm GrimReaper0587 (don't ask, it's a long story involving getting locked out of a hotel room in Chicago on our 7th grade class trip) 11/21/01 OK, I'm sorry to say this, but the game sucks. It is just like Pokemon, except the locations are different. They make a HUGE deal about the Famous Witches and Wizards cards, and it's all mazes and battles and stuff. I am sorry to say I don't like it, but it's the truth. I got it on GameBoy Color, so the PC game may be different, I don't know. The first class is Potions, and Neville spills stuff on himself, and Snape makes you go get stuff to fix him. I AM STUCK. I've gone to Hagrid's Hut, the Herbology greenhouses, and Snape's office to find the stuff, and when I came back without everything, Snape took 10 points from Gryffindor! That made me mad. I still can't find everything I need, and navigating around Hogwarts is awful. I can never figure out where I am. Oh well, I guess I'll have to keep working. Buh-Bye. P.S. 1500 hits...not bad...keep 'em coming! 11/17/01 I saw the movie last night, and it's wonderful! If you even have the slightest interest in Harry Potter I'd recomend seeing it! There were some omissions, but if the whole book was shown it would be almost 4 hours long! The movie itself is about 2 1/2 hours, so it is long, but it's worth it! It's just so amazing, I am speechless. I don't know if there's this deal where you live, but in the Midwest US Best Buy is offering the game and soundtrack together with a $5 discount. The game is for most systems: PC, GameBoy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Playstation. You can also order them from Amazon.com The sountrack is supposed to be great; I loved the music in the movie. Sunhawk.com has the sheet music for the individual songs. To conclude: SEE THE MOVIE!! 8/11/01 We reached 1,000 hits today! Thank you everyone! I got a Guestbook which is located at the bottom of this page; please sign it and tell me what you think of my site! Positive feedback and constructive critisim only please! Hope you like my little corner of the web!
This is my new favorite pic! I scanned it from 16's Harry Potter Special from late 2001.
