Are You Afraid To Die

I’m sitting here, waiting

Waiting for my foe to come and kill me

I know he’s after me

I’ve known for sometime now

I watch the fireplace, and wait

I here a noise and turn around

The door is opened, letting in a draft

I go and close the door

AS I turn back around I walk into a man, taller then I

I decided to come in the traditional way, he said to me

Yes, well it’s traditional to knock first, I said, a bit malice in my voice

Yes, well, let’s start what I came here to do, he said to me

He waved his hand, sending me into the wall

I got up, shakily, and walked to my living room

The mirror in the room showed me that I had a bruise under my right eye

He comes up behind me, and begins to stroke my hair, he whispers into my ear

Are you scared, mudblood

Scared, I say, scared of what

Scared to die

I laughed, causing him to drop my hair

Death comes to everyone, I say, even you

He opens his mouth, but I cut him off

Why should I be afraid to die, I asked, it is just an other great adventure

I see his face contort in the mirror

Bitch, he said, shoving me to the ground

I get up, throwing my chin up defiently

Don’t think you can evade death, it will come to you either way, it follows you everywhere, death is your business

He slaps me, but I continue

You’re never safe from it, it may not get you today, or tomorrow, but one day it will

A smile forms my lips, as his face becomes twisted in rage

I think the real question here, I say to him, is if you’re afraid to die

He raises his wand

And shouts the spell that people dare not to utter

I fall to the ground, the smile still remanded on my lips.
