Care for some bubbly? |
Below are all of the six lovely couples assembled here in my basement for photos. (L-->R) Mike and Mandy, Becky and Derek, Ray and Laurie, Ashley and Ray, me and Dan, and Amanda and Toby. |
The three-tiered crinoline petticoat under this Alfred Angelo gown turned my lower half into a walking beanbag chair, particularly when I sat down! |
Is it just me, or does Dan look a little doubtul of my ability to wield a pin? He didn't get hurt! As you can see, however, he regained his cool in time to put my corsage on. |
Couples and Group Photos |
I felt like a rebel, being only girl in our party wearing a dark gown and hair down. The truth is, when it came time to get ready I had no idea what to do with it, so I figured it being straight was enough of a special change and left it alone! |
I think everyone looked just spectacular. For what we all paid for our dresses, hair, and such...we'd damn well better. The boys cleaned up nice, didn't they? ;-) |
Let the Festivities Begin! |
Ray Aufman's mom took this picture to the left. Funny stuff. As you can see, the weather conditions that day were less than spectacular. I see it now as a trade-off with the class of 2000. Their prom day was gorgeous, but their graduation was wet and crappy! On the other hand, we got a soggy prom but a beauuuuuuuuuutiful graduation day. I think it all worked out. |
Mandy got us a sweet ride--a white limo with leather interior. I provided some bubbly and we had a grand ol' time riding to Mt.Washington, a section of Pittsburgh that overlooks the downtown area. Even with the rain, the view of the city and the three rivers was spectacular from the restaurant from which we ate, the Georgetowne Inn. The food and service were both excellent. My only problem was occupy-ing the small bathroom space with Mandy and her 9-zillion layered dress, and the fact that our driver didn't show up right away after we ate, and Ray and Ashley drove separately and got lost so we were a little late in starting to eat...hey, no prom is without its stories. |
Now it's really showtime |
Hey, fresh faces! Above is Rach and me. This photo to the left is of my pals Matt and Katie. These three pictures are the only ones I got at the dance itself. |
After Prom! |
Our after prom was held on a boat from the Gateway Clipper Fleet. Which river in Pittsburgh it was on, I cannot say. After all, there are three of them. The night was complete with dancing, a midnight buffet, and Bubba of the JohnDaveBubbaShelley Show, a popular radio show in the Pittsburgh area. (That would be Bubba to the left.) Unfortunately, I had been sick all week (THANKS AGAIN, LESJACK for infecting everyone on the band trip.), and by the time after prom rolled around, my meds were wearing off. So I snatched Dan's jacket and perched myself on the second floor of the boat and took pictures of the action below, thus giving you all these arial shots you see here. |
Left, Amanda dances with Andy Hill, Lisa's date and a former Seneca student. Does Lisa mind? Nope, 'cause she's here to the right dancing with Amanda's date, Toby. |
In great prom tradition, we had a hypnotist perform at our after prom. Now this I was actually contemplating jumping over the rail and down to the floor to do! Alas, that three-tiered petticoat would have made it difficult to rush down the stairs and through the crowd to do....anyway, I suggest clicking the the thumbnail of this one if you want to be able to make out anything because my camera simply couldn't take a good shot from where I was sitting. One of the hypnotist's ending acts was to "levitate" somebody, who is none other than my pal Amanda (aka Bruce. heh heh). She says she really doesn't remember being hypnotised and then put into this amazing floating position! |
Dad took this picture while we were waiting in line for... |
...this, the walk in the Grand March, where couples get announced and ooh'ed and ahh'ed over for a few seconds. |
If any of you have any prom pictures you'd like for me to post on this page, by all means send them to me! It needs a little variety! |
