1953 Buick Skylark |

The model 76X skylark was built on the 121.5-inch-wheelbase Roadmaster chassis and powered by an all-new high-compression 188-horsepower Fireball V-8. The new V-8 would be the lightest and smallest engine until Chevy's small block came on the scene two years later, and would serve as the full-size Buick's basic powerplant until 1970. |

Another major change for 1953, and probably the most endearing, was the totally revamped Dyna-Flow transmission. |
