HFH Cheboygan County
HFH Cheboygan County is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.



2006 construction activity is progressing along. This year our affiliate will build one house, this time at 5277 Casey Drive in Indian River, Michigan. The build schedule is Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm and on Thursday evening from 4pm to 8 pm. We are very blessed by the caring businesses and individuals in this rural, northern Michigan community who continue to generously support the sixteenth Habitat for Humanity home under construction in Cheboygan County.

Volunteers are always needed, especially as we grow. Call our office at 231-597-4663, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30am to 5:00pm and Thursday between 8:30am and 1:00pm.

Our Annual Fundraising Banquet will be held Thursday, April 12, 2007. We look forward to a delicious homemade dinner prepared by Munroe Helping Hands. Please watch for the announcement about when tickets will be going on sale - you won't want to miss this one!
