The
Frightening Flicks
These are movies that I recommend. Some of them are classics and some are future classics and some are just worth a look. I hope you agree with my choices!
Either way, CHECK THEM OUT!!!
Considered by many horror fans to be the greatest horror movie of all time, TCM is truly a classic. When it was released in 1974, it grabbed the country by the throat and has yet to release it's death grip. It has spawned several sequels and a couple of remakes, none of which have captured the sheer terror that the original inspired. Whether it's the low budget documentary style in which it was filmed, or just the thought of the maniacal monster named "Leatherface" who cuts the faces off of his victims and wears them as masks to hide his own hideous face, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre has caused people to sleep with the lights on for three decades now.

CHECK BACK OFTEN KIDDIES, THERE WILL BE MORE TO COME!!!
if you agree or disagree, let me know
When the Exorcist was released in 1973, it made the whole country deathly afraid of a little girl. There had never been anything quite like it before, a film that played on the religeous fears of decent folks everywhere. It's the story of how demons possessed the body of an adorable little girl, only to turn her into a ghastly monster capable of all sorts of nasty behavior, such as projectile vomiting, causing objects to fly about wildly, speaking in tongues, and the notorious trademark 360 degree head spin. This film provided no doubt in the minds of the casual movie-goer the existence of Satan and to this day can cause a sleepless night or two for the recent viewer. There are just as many fans of the genre that consider the Exorcist to be the greatest horror movie of all time as there are those that think it's TCM. Watch them both and decide for yourself.

ALSO NOT TO BE MISSED!!!
Take my advice, skip the Exorcist II: The Heretic and go straight to Exorcist III, you'll be glad you did. EIII is a very creepy, above average sequel, with a performance by Brad Dourif that is gripping to say the very least! He is an often overlooked, highly underrated actor that has been in dozens of movies, ranging from playing "B-B-B-Billy" in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," to the very strange scientist in "Alien Resurrection." To say Dourif is an intense actor is akin to saying that Michael Jackson is "a little odd." I just can't say enough about his incredible talent, you can bury him in the worst of movies and he will steal the show every time. If you don't believe me, check out his role as the exterminator in "Stephen King's Graveyard Shift," his performance makes it worth watching.
EIII was Jeffery Dahmer's favorite movie, he would watch it over and over and over again. If that doesn't give this movie some serious "street cred" I don't know what would!

YOU JUST GOTTA SEE THIS ONE!!!
Here it is kiddies, the grandaddy of all slasher movies! Without this movie, there may have never been a "Freddy," "Jason," or "Michael Myers." When it was released in 1960, it shocked the country, not only because of the murderous subject matter, but because it marked the first time in American movie history that a woman was shown naked in the shower (gasp!). That scene is an unforgettable, much copied, much parodied piece of movie history, that everyone should be familiar with, even if they have never seen the movie. Incidentally, since it was filmed in B&W, the "Blood" that is seen going down the shower drain is actually Hersey's chocolate syrup, hey, it worked! Anthony Perkins gives a tremendous performance as Norman Bates, a weird, twitchy, nervous, paranoid....well....phycho. And talk about a Mamma's boy! Or should I say "Mother's" boy?! Either way, the original Psycho is a masterpiece of suspense that few films have even approached, it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I even recommend the various sequels, of course, none of which are as good as the original, but none the less are worth a look. Just make sure that Anthony Perkins is the one playing "Norman" and you can't go too wrong!

A "TRUE" CLASSIC!!!
