Freddie Augustus Doggett* OBITUARY WALTON TRIBUNE, 23 JAN. 1975: F. A. DOGGETT Freddie Augustus Doggett, 93, of Rt. 1, Oxford, died Jan. 20 at Newton County Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held Jan. 22 in Hebron Christian Church. Rev. George Secrist and Rev. B. L. Cox officiated and interment was in the DeLay Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Mr. Doggett was born March 2, 1881, in Oconee County but lived in Walton and Newton counties most of his life. He was the son of the late H. H. and Amy Ward Doggett and the widower of Aza Delay Doggett. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Hebron Christian Church. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. A. H. Conner of Winder and Mrs. Jeff Thompson of Columbus; sons, Roy Doggett of Oxford, Burchael Doggett of Griffin, and Gerald Doggett of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Mrs. A. D. Doggett of Decatur; sister, Mrs. Alma Puckett of Athens; sister-in-law, Mrs. Amy Taylor of Moultrie; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Williams-Smith Funeral Directors. George Secrist officiating. Burial was to be in the Delay Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. A.H. Conner, Winder, and Mrs. Jeff Thompson, Columbus; three sons, Roy Doggett, Oxford, Burchael Doggett, Riverdale, and Gerald Doggett, Decatur; a sister, Mrs. Alma Puckett, Athens; 16 gramdchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
