FAMILY UPDATE |
After Rosalie's death in August of 2000, Maria and Kurt did some serious soul-searching. They truly wanted to have another child, but what if the next baby was sick like Rosalie? Could they trust that God was calling them to have another child, and that everything would be alright? In 2 Kings Chapter 4, the bible recounts the story of the Shunammite woman who befriended Elisha. She recognized him as a man of God, and made a room for him to stay at her house whenever he was in town. In response, Elisha asked what he could do to repay this woman's kindness. She and her husband had no children, so Elisha called to her and said, "About this time next year you will hold a son in your arms." "No, my lord", she objected. "Don't mislead your servant!" But the woman became pregnant, and the next year about that same time she gave birth to a son." 2 Kings 4:17 Just like the Shunammite woman, almost a year after Rosalie's birth and death, Kurt and Maria welcomed Adam Joseph Honis into their family. Adam is happy and healthy and the joy of the entire family. God honored Kurt and Maria's faithfulness. Praise God for his grace and mercy! May this story of faith be an encouragement to all! |
