Sovereign Royal Wedding Postcards

The Prescott Pickup Company issued several significant series of postcards during the 1980s, including one on the Royal Wedding in 1981. What made them remarkable was that they were not for sale, since a new postcard would be distributed each day within daily newspapers. Once you had the entire set, you could buy a soft cover booklet to mount them in for three pounds, and the booklet contained additional color photos that were not part of the set. While the postcards themselves can still be found among antique postcard dealers and on ebay, it is harder to find the booklets for sale either with or without the postcards.

Sixty postcards were issued in this series, which included photographs from the day of the engagement in February 1981 to the day that Princess Diana's pregnancy was announced in November 1981. The ones dealing with the wedding day itself were numbered 16 through 42.
