Update 3/10/08 Yep, I'm still around! Take your lame micros and cram them up your bungholes. Update 1/9/06 I added a favorite cache list in the Chattanooga area for the people who want to visit quality caches. Besides my caches of course ;-) Update 11/23/05 As all are getting ready for the big Thanksgiving Feast I leave you with a little knowledge to ponder. Nothing more will I teach you today, Clear your mind of questions. Mmm. Mmmmmm Update 11/18/05 Well even though I have been on vacation all week I haven’t gone caching at all. Too much puppy stuff and moving this week to my new home on Signal Mountain have been keeping me too busy. Update 11/02/05 I finally went to a cache real close to home the other day. It was the first in months and I really looked forward to going. Memories of Sonny by DigiDad (GCR22F) was a very nice tribute to a brother of his and really had me stumped (or hitchhiked in this case) but found the cache after using the force. It was a great cache and the cache owner needs to be commended for placing a quality cache so close to my house. Hopefully he will place some more of these kinds of caches. The next note is off topic but needs to be addressed. Many moons ago BackBreakBilly then a member of GEOSET at the time was blasting other members of the club for their caches and personally attacking their ethics and using harsh words in his efforts. After talking to a co-founder and Billy it seems that there was personal issues between the two. I have many emails sent back and forth between the two and I came to a conclusion after Billy wanted me to give him moderator privileges on the GEOSET message boards, I told him he wasn't getting them because there was no need for him to have such things and that his personal attacks on members in the forums was not right, so HE deleted all his post and HE quit the club. Not anyone in the group told him to do anything other than me and all I told him was not to bring negative things into the forums, I never said to delete the post and never told him to quit because he didn't get his way. A few weeks went by and we tried to resolve the differences and got him signed up again on the forums. We had a few weeks of content then it all started right back up again. Eventually he was banned, not by me... from the forums, because he decided to start-up Club Billy or GETGC as they call it now. The result of Billy not getting his way and starting his own club was a direct threat on a club that a few others and I have poured a lot of heart and soul into. I hope that this brings a little more to light on how Billy is to you folks and hope that you continue to Geocache in the Chattanooga area after he upsets you also. Now back to your regular caching amusement. 10/17/05 I have decided to come out of retirement folks, that’s right out. I will hit the traditional caches in the area so I dusted off the ole laptop, PDA and GPS, dug out the backpack and stocked it full of goodies. I fired up GSAK for the first time in a while and downloaded a PQ and filtered out all the caches I am not going traveling to and so my quest begins. Were to go, probably Yoda's cache. 10/14/05 I activated my Tennessee Geocoins today. How about these for the names, MICROS SUCK! Tennessee Silver Geocoin TRADITIONAL GEOCACHES RULE Tennessee Bronze Geocoin Hikenit's Tennessee Gold Geocoin "The Traditional Geocacher" Catchy don't you think? 9/28/05 What idiots, I just read a article on a The Herald-News in Rhea County with a quotes of "that geocachers see suspicious items such as a bag of pills lying in the woods or an person living in a tent with numerous new items sitting beside it. " What a idiot! Why would someone boast such negative crap on a GAME that they like to do. Please people, don't believe anything you read from this article. Especially from a couple of attention starved people trying to make a name for them for being such GREAT stewards. I said it to you before Billy, Get a F'n life! 9/23/05 Ever hear the word surreal? This word lately has been the most overused word in vocabulary since 9/11. Everything you hear from stories on the news, rock band songs , Geocaching logs and even a blog about a guys trip to the toilet are using this word beyond it's means. Gee people, get out of dreamland and start living life in the real! 9/20/05 Well now I need to go back and reword my last post. I have been confronted from an organization called the disgruntled geocachers, these people have been forming a group (over a thousand strong) in order to protect the original rules of caches and want to vanish the world of lame micros or give them a icon all on there own which is the way it was back in the day. For now it is a secret (even for me) on who these people actually are but I am now a member and they will reveal their intentions in the coming months. That’s all I can say at this time. If any of you who receives an email about this, it's legit. 9/15/05 If your looking for a group to join, don’t. Enjoy the hunt all on your own. If your looking for friends, email them on an individual basis, that way you’re not subject to attacks about geo-ethics and not ruled over. 9/14/05 7 more added to the Lame Micro Geocache ignore feature. Chattanooga deserves better but it constantly reminds me of the commercial of Tennessee Trash. 9/09/05 And now a little tune for your caching adventure. Thanks for resisting the Dark Side of caching My hats off to Tjay & Mray for placing quality caches in well deserving places! 8/18/05 Why change your find log to a note log to prove it's not about numbers, just delete the log all together like I did many months ago and don't give a prick the satisfaction that you were there. 8/3/05 I added this little lame micro cache count to the page to give people an idea about how many caches they could find in a day in a 50 mile radius without having to do anything. Guess who tops the list with the most hides...You guessed it, the ambASSador of geocaching BackBreakBilly, or better yet, why don't you have him take you to all of them and point to where they all are. He might even let you log all of them without even going to them, Wouldn't that be neat, log hundreds of lame micros without leaving the house, just be in Club Billy and be Billy's best friend and log until your hearts content. I might go through the ignore list in further detail and even come up with a list of people, like a top 10 lame micro placers. 7/20/05 It's funny to think that some people always can justify their actions, and when things go bad for them they are always the first ones to jump in and show everyone just how needed and worthy they are to the cause and always covering their false actions in the background. Think about it. 7/05/05 when the smoke is ready to be cleared, I will return, even Yoda had to go in hiding until the right time. Until then remember this, micro caches suck, don't hunt them & don't place them. Resist the dark side 6/10/05 I have decided to retire from Geocaching to resume other activates. When the game seems more like work and less fun then it is time to move on. I will still be placing a few caches and maintaining the ones I have out but as far as searching for them I'm done. Geocaching went from finding cool stuff in boxes to thousands of film cans with nothing but little log books in them. To me Geocaching was finding the cool stuff and trading with cool stuff. All the caches I have out have been pilfered several times and seems like most of the world is just plain greedy, if it's not by taking something and leaving crap it's placing micros all over the area that deserves a box with trade items. Like I said earlier, I am still going to place some more. Why, because I have ammo cans ready to go and have no use for the otherwise and the caches I have out will not be coming home. nor will I stock a ammo can again with t-shirts, dvd's or Morgan dollars. It sucks but hey, you would be pissed too. 4/2205 There are a few caches I have in the works all with the Battle For Chattanooga theme that should be quite a challenge to find on some of them. 3/22/05 "Hiding Out" The Battle for Chattanooga is getting a great response from the newer cachers in the area. The cache is hidden near "The Green Mile cache I placed three years ago and that one is still helping bring new cachers in the game in a positive way. 2/02/05 A lot of stuff has been happening in Geocaching lately in Chattanooga, here is the update. There have been a lot of behind the scene negative things trying to throw our club into dismay but once people realize what the cause is I am not going to comment. All I hope is that the new people that are introduced to the game are done in a way that they will have fun and enjoy Geocaching. There are way too many micros in the area that are for one thing only and that is to stroke someone’s ego. I hope the new cachers in the area don’t hunt these caches. There area already a few people that have left the game and a few more thinking about leaving due to a bad taste in their mouth because of this. The reason I am telling this much is to protect the integrity of the game in the area. I hope the ego stokers stop acting childish, get their crap together and just hunt caches to build their numbers. 1/12/04: "The Green Mile" has now introduced 31 new Geocachers to the community 6/09/02: My third traditional cache "The Mushroom"' is now planted off the Cumberland Trail. 5/21/02: My first and only virtual cache CCC is getting a great response from people.
