14th century.  A bell tent with the sections of the roof alternate colours (red and tan) and blue and white decoration on the walls just below the roof line. “Saracen beggars appealing for Crusader charity mask the advance of their armed comrades (from the 14th century Chroniques de St. Denis).” British Museum/Weidenfeld Library.
