15th century Two bell tents set up on the top of carts being drawn through the city’s streets. 1. A bell tent with a ball and disc apex decoration, circle and line decoration on the roof, fringed roof edge, overlapping roof edge and no guy ropes visible. 

2. A bell tent with ball and disc apex decoration, swirl from apex, triangles and fridge along roof edge, overlapping roof edge and no guy ropes visible. 

“The urban way of life first appeared towards the twelfth century, Depending on the season it was made of processions, parades and solemn ceremonies. On festive occasions the houses were decorated and the streets strewn with flowers..., while the people drank and made merry.” Provenance unknown.  Delort, R., Life in the Middle Ages, London, 1973, p. 320.
