¤Ò±ý×¹D¡A¥ý¯à±Ë¨Æ¡C

    Desire to cultivate Tao,
first be able to part with things.

¥~¨Æ¦hµ´¡AµL»PÊޤߡC

    With outside things mostly severed,
not to interfere with the mind.

µM«á¦w§¤¡A¤ºÆ[¤ß°_¡C

    Then sit peacefully,
and inwardly observe the rising of thoughts.

¨ä¦¸¦³³gµÛ¡B¯B¹C¶Ã·Q¡B¥çºÉ·À°£¡C

Besides that, all craving attachment, wandering of mind, and fancy thoughts should be annihilated and eliminated.

±Þ©]¶Ô¦æ¡A¶·ªØ¤£´À¡C

Do it day and night diligently,
not to discard for even a moment.

°ß·À°Ê¤ß¡A¤£·À·Ó¤ß¡C

Only annihilate the movement of the mind,
    but not the reflective mind.

¦ý¾®ªÅ¤ß¡A¤£¾®¦í¤ß¡C

    But freeze the empty mind,
and not the mind dwelling (on thoughts).

¤£¨Ì¤@ªk¡A¦Ó¤ß±`¦í¡C

    Not rely on one method,
    yet mind always dwells.

µM«h¤Z¤ßļÄv¡A¨ä¦¸ªì¾Ç®§¤ß¬ÆÃø¡A©Î®§¤£±o¡A¼È°±ÁÙ¥¢¡C

Yet when the mind is competingly impetuous,
besides for beginners finding it difficult to cease the mind,
or ceasing the mind is not gained,
    just pause and get lost.

¥h¯d¥æ¾Ô¡A¦ÊÅé¬y¦æ¡C

    Battling between staying and going,
    until flowing throughout the body.

¤[¤[ºë«ä¡A¤è¤D½Õ¼ô¡C

After thoughts get refined for a long time,
then (mind is) familiarzed to regulation.

¤Å¥H¼È¦¬¤£±o¡A¹E¼o¤d¥Í¤§·~¡C

Don't because of not gaining collection for the moment,
thus abandon the undertaking of thousand lives.

¤Ö±oÀR¤v¡A

    Having gained little silence,

«h©ó¦æ¥ß§¤ª×¤§®É¡B

then no matter during walking, standing, sitting or lying,

¯A¨Æ¤§³B¡B³Ù¾x¤§©Ò¡A

or during circumstances involved in things,
or in noisy and clamorous place,

¬Ò§@·N¦w¡C

    rest your mind at ease.

¦³¨ÆµL¨Æ¡A±`YµL¤ß¡C³BÀR³B³Ù¡A¨ä§Ó°ß¤@¡C

Whether having things or not having things (to do),
always as if nothing in the mind.
Whether in silent or noisy places,
the will is only this one.

Y§ô¤ß¤Ó«æ¡A«h¤S¦¨¯f¡A®ðµo¨gÄA¡A¬O¨äÔ¤]¡C

If restraining the mind too tight,
    then will become sick,
    pneuma getting wild and mad,
    is the symptom.

¤ßY¤£°Ê¡A¤S¶·©ñ¥ô¡C

    If mind is not lively,
    then needs to let go.

¼e«æ±o©Ò¡A¦ÛùÚ½Õ¾A¡C

Loose or tight each have its place,
be constantly self-regulating to one's comfort.

¨î¦Ó¤£µÛ¡A©ñ¦Ó¤£°Ê¡A³B³ÙµL´c¡A¯A¨ÆµL´oªÌ¡A¦¹¬O¯u©w¡C

Restrict and it does not adhere,
    let go and it does not move;
    No dislike of noisy places,
not irritated when involved in things,
this is real steadiness (of mind).

¤£¥H¯A¨ÆµL´o¡A¬G¨D¦h¨Æ¡C¤£¥H³B³ÙµL´c¡A±j¨D´N³Ù¡C

Don't seek more things to do,
because of not being irritated when involved in things.
Don't force to be in noisy places,
because of not feeling bad in noisy places.

¥HµL¨Æ¬°¯u¦v¡A¦³¨Æ¬°À³¸ñ¡C

Take no things (to do) as our real home,
and having things (to do) as trace of response.

Y¤ôÃ褧¬°Å³¡A«hÀHª«¦Ó²{§Î¡C

Like the mirrored reflection from a water surface,
that takes shape according to the things (mirrored).

µ½¥©¤è«K¡A°ß¯à¤J©w¡C

All good technics and convenient ways,
are only for entering into steadiness (of mind).

¼zµo¿ð³t«h¤£¥Ñ¤H¡C¤Å¥O©w¤¤«æ«æ¨D¼z¡C«æ«h¶Ë©Ê¡A¶Ë«hµL¼z¡C

The development of spiritual wisdom, whether fast or slow, is beyond one's control.
Don't try to seek spiritual wisdom hastily in steadiness (of mind).
Our (born) nature will be hurt in haste,
and when hurt, then no spiritual wisdom.

Y©w¤£¨D¼z¡A¦Ó¼z¦Û¥Í¡A¦¹¦W¯u¼z¡C

If not seeking spiritual wisdom in steadiness (of mind),
    but spiritual wisdom is self-generated,
this is called true spiritual wisdom.

¼z¦Ó¤£¥Î¡A¹ê´¼ªÌ·M¡C

With spiritual wisdom but not use it,
the wise man is indeed foolish.

¯q¸ê©w¼z¡AÂù¬üµL·¥¡C

Benefit and furnish steadiness (of mind) with spiritual widsom,
is double good of no ends.

Y©w¤¤©À·Q¡A¦h·P²³¨¸¡A§¯ºë¦Ê¾y¡AÀH¤ßÀ³¨£¡C

If thoughts and mental images in steadiness (of mind),
are many sensation of numerous evils,
and bewitching monster with hundreds of enchantments,
that follow our mind and were seen accordingly.

©Ò¨£¤Ñ´L¡A½Ñ¥P¯u¤H¡A¬O¨ä²»¤]¡C

Then the supreme celestials, various immortals and man of reality seen are the auspicious ones.

°ß¥O©w¤ß¤§¤W¡AÁŵMµLÂСC©w¤ß¤§¤U¡AÃmµMµL°ò¡C

Only order the mind to settle on them.
Then mind clear up and not overwhelmed.
    With the mind settled,
    then board-minded without basic (intention).

·~¤é¾P¡A·s·~¤£³y¡C

Old karma [i.e. fruits of action] consumed day by day,
    and new karma not created.

µL©ÒÖñê¡A~²æ¹ÐÅ¢¡C

    Nothing to hinder,
revert and escape from the cage of the dusty (world).

¦æ¦Ó¤[¤§¡A¦ÛµM±o¹D¡C

    Doing it for long,
    then naturally gain Tao.

¤Ò±o¹D¤§¤H¡A¤Z¦³¤CÔ¡C

Those man who have gained Tao,
    usually have seven symptoms:

¤@ªÌ¡A¤ß±o©w©ö¡Aı½Ñ¹Ðº|¡C

Firstly, mind has gained steadiness easily,
be aware of various outflow (of awareness to the) dusty (world).

¤GªÌ¡A±J¯e´¶¾P¡A¨¤ß»´²n¡C

    Secondly, chronic disease generally destroyed,
    mind-body (feels) light and exhilarating.

¤TªÌ¡A¶ñ¸É¤Ô·l¡AÁÙ¦~´_©R¡C

    Thirdly, fill up premature end,
    return to destined lifespan.

¥|ªÌ¡A©µ¼Æ¸U·³¡A¦W¤ê¥P¤H¡C

Fourthly, extend life to ten thousand years,
    named as immortal man.

¤ªÌ¡AÁå§Î¬°®ð¡A¬G¤ê¯u¤H¡C

Fifthly, refine form to be prana,
    named as man of reality.

¤»ªÌ¡AÁå®ð¦¨¯«¡A¦W¤ê¯«¤H¡C

Sixthly, refine prana to accomplish spirit,
    named as divine man.

¤CªÌ¡AÁ寫¦X¹D¡A¦W¤ê¦Ü¤H¡C

Seventhly, refine spirit to be one with Tao,
    named as extreme man.

¨ä©óų¤O¡AÀHÔ¯q©ú¡C

    And his percipient power,
becomes more and more clear with symptoms (manifested).

±o¦Ü¹D¦¨¡A¼z¤D¶ê³Æ¡C

    Until gaining accomplishment of Tao,
then spiritual wisdom is fully equipped.

Y¤D¤[¾Ç©w¤ß¡A¨µL¤@Ô¡A«PÄÖ©½è¡A¦âÁ¤èªÅ¡A¦Û¤ª¼zı¡A¤SºÙ¦¨¹DªÌ¡A¨D¹D¤§²z¡A¹ê©Ò¥¼µM¡C

If one fix his mind after lasting practice,
but body has not (shown any) one symptom,
with hurried duration (of practice) and of filthy disposition,
and (reach) emptiness only when form withers,
yet call himself (gaining) awareness of spiritual wisdom,
and claim to be man of Tao accomplished.
    The way of seeking Tao,
is in fact not (like) this.

        The eulogy says:

´¼°_¥Í©ó¹Ò¡A¤õµo¥Í©ó½t¡C

    Intelligence arises born with scenes,
and fire ignited born from cause of action.

¦U¨ã¯uºØ©Ê¡A©Ó¬y¥¢¹D·½¡C

Each are equipped with real seed nature,
but lose the origin of Tao when bearing stream (of thought).

°_¤ß±ý®§ª¾¡A¤ß°_ª¾§ó·Ð¡C

Thought arises desiring to cease awareness,
yet awareness more bothered with rising thoughts.

¤Fª¾©Ê¥»ªÅ¡Aª¾«h²³§®ªù¡C

Apprehend and know our (born) nature is basically void,
then awareness (become) gate of numerous wonders.
