IL-62 was engineered for long-range flights and first
took to the air 30 years ago. It is comfortable, easy to fly, and
economical. It has several modifications. It earned its irreproachable
reputation in Trans-Siberian flights: the shortest and most advantageous
route between Western Europe and Japan. It has also set many world
records. This was the plane that was used to complete the non-stop flight
route from Moscow to the U.S. over the North pole. The IL-62 has proven to
be one of the safest aircraft in the world. It is now being gradually
