Here are the BRIEF answers -- may not be 100% correct
Paper 1

Question 1
(b)(ii) oxide layer on Ca makes the reaction slow, but the oxide will dissolve in water later.
(c) K burns but Ca doesn't. K floats but Ca sinks.....

Question 2
(a) add conc. H2SO4 -- sugar chars but salt doesn't
(b) add NaOH & heat, NH4Cl gives a gas which turns wet red litmus paper blue.
(c) add Cu -- Cu dissolves in dil HNO3 but not in dil H2SO4

Question 3
(b)(1) redox (2) good solvent for iodine

Question 4

Na2O & MgO: ionic, high m.p.
SiO2: giant covalent, highest m.p. among the four
SO2: simple molecular, low m.p.

Question 6
(b)(iii)(1) H2O2 + 2H+ + 2 e- ---> 2 H2O
(2) pale green ----> yellow/brown solution
H2O2 + 2H+ + 2Fe2+ ---> 2 H2O + 2Fe3+
(c)(i) prevent burning of plastic wastes

(iv) -ve terminal continuously gives electrons to car body, making the metal can't lose electrons
(c)(ii) ask the driver to rinse the mouth thoroughly with water, then test by breathalyser again.

Question 9
(a)(iv) K & F (most reactive metal & most reactive non-metal)
(v)(1) x = 18 y = 7
(2) Br2 + 2NaOH ---> NaOBr + NaBr + H2O
(b)(ii) to avoid loss of reaction mixture by evaporation
(c)(ii)(1) I don't know how to draw here, but something like

(benzene ring)---CO2Na
(2) dilute H2SO4 (any dilute acid will do)
(3) 81.16%
