Meet Board Member James Smiley

James danced all 13 performances at the Pueblo Cultural Center this year.

James Smiley has been actively involved in changing conditions for the better since he was 13 when he helped to found the Learning Circles Literacy Program in the Trumbull Neighborhood. He has also been involved in cultural renewal since 1994. He served on a youth advisory board for the mayor, 1996-1998.

He began writing poetry when he was seven and has currently taken up acoustic guitar. His major is computer animation.

His heritage is Dine, Choctaw, and Cherokee.

The Board welcomes his creativity.
