The last day of pheasant season.  He had a whole bunch of the local guys hunting with us.  The last few days, we have received about 6" of snow, so the pheasants have really started to bunch up.

My cousin, Tyler Liffrig, age 16 shot a whitetail doe on the last day of North Dakota's second deer season for does only.  He shot it over by the old silage pit, as it came out of Erickson's Island to feed.

My dad & I went out hunting with Monte, his son-in-law John, John's buddy Brian, and Monte's friend Jim Davenport.  Temperatures 10 degrees below zero kind of hampered our shooting.   We saw a lot of birds, but we only scared most of them.  We ended up with eleven roosters.

My dad's cousin Marvin Underwood and his friend Steve were out hunting with us today & yesterday.  Mild temperatures and lots of birds made for some of the best pheasant hunting of the year.  My dad, Monte, Marvin, Steve, and myself limited out both days very easily.  We bagged 9 birds out of "The Jungle"!  I can't remember ever killing that many birds out of there.  I guess it helps to have a couple of sharpshooters along.

North Dakota's opening weekend of deer gun season.  I hunted in the rugged bluffs across the Missouri River with a few of my buddies.  I got lucky and bagged a pretty nice mulie buck on opening day.  My friend Wade from Fargo also shot a decent buck in the bottom of a coulee.  My friend, Brian, from Minnesota, drew a non-resident mule deer doe tag and shot one down on "the homeplace."  Shawn also harvested a nice mule deer buck directly across the river from our farm.  Again, we had to drag it all the way up a steep coulee.  Nice weather and good friends made for an awesome weekend of hunting mule deer.
