NEWS & UPDATES

5/02/02  I added some new stills from Scott's appearance in Novocaine. I'm sorry if they're a little fuzzy - my graphics program isn't working right. Also, just to keep you up-to-date, principal photography has been completed on Dallas and Rusty and the movie has started post-production. Finally, don't forget, Ocean's Eleven comes out on VHS and DVD next Tuesday (5/07)!

4/09/02  Scott's newest project Dallas and Rusty began filming April 1 as the very first project from the newly-launched production company Sunlion Films. As we already know, Scott will not only be directing the movie but will be starring in it as well, alongside Jeff Goldblum, Shawn Hatosy, Kelly Lynch, Selma Blair, Heavy D, Marley Shelton and Freddie Rodriguez.

In other news, it seems that the title for Pony Ride (previously Sonny) has been changed again - back to Sonny. Also, I heard a little rumor that there will be a free test screening of Sonny this Thursday (4-11) in L.A. I don't know where or any other details, but if you're in the area and interested in going, I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to find out.

Finally, don't forget upcoming video/DVD release dates:
Novocaine - April 23
Ocean's Eleven - May 7

4/01/02  Whew! Scott Caan sure does keep busy. Now that "9-11" has finished its run, and filming for Pony Ride / Sonny has wrapped (the indie film is now in post-production), I guess Scott had some free time for a new project. According to Variety, Scott is now in pre-production for his newest film Dallas and Rusty - a movie Scott is not only going to be starring in, but he also wrote it and will be directing it! That's a lot of credits for one movie!

"It's the story of two kids growing up in a city," Caan said. "They are getting into trouble, and when one of them decides to turn his life around and go straight, the other guy can't change and complicates his plan." Caan plays the unrepentent pal while Hatosy plays the one trying to make a change in his life.

3/14/02  I added 6 new pictures today...5 of them you may not recognize. They are behind the scenes at a reading (audition) Scott took part in about 3 years ago for a film called "Pledge of Allegiance." As far as I know, I don't think Scott will be appearing in this film. As far as new movies go, although not 100% confirmed, it does look like Scott will be appearing in Saturn Film's Pony Ride (aka Sonny - I'm not sure if they have decided for sure what the title will be). I also have no idea as of yet what Scott's role will be in the movie.

I know it is a little early yet but...Novocaine comes out on VHS and DVD on April 23 and Ocean's Eleven will be out May 7. You can preorder a copy of both of those films from the Scott Store now. When released the VHS version of Novocaine will run about $60 at first, but Ocean's Eleven VHS should be normal price (around $20). I also added the soundtracks to both of these movies to the Store.

2/27/02  Added new TV listings for the month of March. Scott's play, "9-11" will finish out its run at Playhouse West this weekend. The final two performances will be Sat. Mar. 2 at 8:00 (Pacific Time) and Sun. Mar. 3 at 7:00 pm. If you're in the Los Angeles area, this is your last chance!

On to a little bit of gossip/rumor - It seems that a couple sources have reported Scott as signing on to appear in Saturn Films' new movie Pony Ride alongside James Franco and Mena Suvari (Saturn Films is Nicholas Cage's production company; Cage will also direct the film). I have not yet confirmed this to be true. I only have doubts because reports have also said that the movie began filming in New Orleans in January and we know that Scott has been in L.A. for the last 3 months doing his play. I will post confirmation as soon as I can find it. If anyone hears anything new about this, please email me and let me know!

Finally, keep checking back this week because I plan to post a whole new batch of pictures - some rare behind-the-scenes stuff!

1/29/02  Scott's play "9-11" will continue running at Playhouse West's Studio Two in North Hollywood throughout the month of February (weekends). If anyone has plans to go, I would love to post a review from a fan's perspective (with full credit to the author of course). Please email me if you're going (or have gone already) and are interested. Pictures are a plus, but not necessary.

11/30/01  Scott will be starring in a new play that he wrote this month, again showing at Playhouse West in North Hollywood, CA. It's called "9-11" and it will be playing every Saturday (8:00 pm) and Sunday (7:00 pm) in December at Studio Two starting tomorrow. If you plan to attend, call Stacey Boniello @ (310) 550-3511 for reservations. To find out more visit the 9-11 website.

11/14/01  Don't forget - Novocaine opens this Friday. Unfortunately, it's only going to be a limited release (approx. 105 theaters around the country), so it may not be playing near you. I already checked, and the closest it's playing to me is an hour drive away. If you want to find out if it will be showing near you, go to Yahoo Movies and click "Showtimes & Tickets." Also, while you're there at Yahoo Movies, check out the trailer for Novocaine. Scott's in it for a second or two.

10/24/01  I added a new interview with Scott from this month's issue of Details magazine. I highly recommend picking it up while it's still on the stands. It's got Johnny Depp on the cover. Pictures from the article are in the Magazine section of the Photo Album.

On the Links page, for lack of a better place to put them, I added links to clips from two Whooliganz songs - the whole songs (for those of you who don't know, Whooliganz is the name of the rap group that Scott used to be in from '90-'94). Also from the Links page, you can view one of the Whooliganz videos! Just in case, Scott's wearing the purplish bandana on his head.

10/22/01  Some of you may have seen it already, but I ran into a website for a film Scott did called Fourteen Forty. Turns out it's really what imdb lists as Wild Horses. The website has Quicktime clips of Scott. Check them out at fourteen-forty.com

Finally, you can order your very own copy of American Outlaws today from the Scott Store. Actually, to buy the VHS tape now is something over $100, but the DVD is only around $15.

10/10/01  I have slowly been working on some major changes since previously this page hadn't been updated in a LONG time. First off, the Scott Store has been completely redone. You can now purchase VHS or DVD copies, as well as the soundtracks, of many of Scott's movies right from this site! I also completely revamped and updated the Photo Album. It now has over 80 pictures of Scott from movies, magazines, and more. The Filmography has been updated as well as the Articles section. And new is the Monthly TV Listings so you'll know ahead of time when and where you can catch your favorite actor on TV. Finally, I created 2 email lists that I hope everyone will join. The first one ABoyCalledScott, is a list for you to receive notices about this website's major updates and Scott news. Sign up today! The second one, simply titled Scott_Caan, is a discussion forum where all the fans can come together and talk about Scott, his movies, news, rumors or whatever!

And now for a bit of Scott news/rumor:  MTV.com reported last week that Scott may appear in rap artist Bubba Sparxxx's newest music video for the song 'Lovely.'  It was also reported that Dale Earnhardt Jr. was scheduled to appear as well. Filming of the video will take place October 20-21. No word on where.

Finally, release dates for Scott's two upcoming films:
Novocaine - November 16 (possibly limited release)
Ocean's Eleven - December 7
