Witness the onslaught of Sentai!! This picture actually hails from
Turboranger #1, a summary of the previous Super Sentai, and was included
in some sort of collage, which explains the leg on the left and the UFO
thingy at the bottom. Turboranger's up in front, every other Super Sentai
from 1979-1988 is in the back.
Megrangers and the Galaxy Mega, Delta Mega, and Super Galaxy Mega.
Half of my poster of Carranger, Kakuranger, and Ohranger.
Above picture, larger, but in sections: Ohranger and Kakuranger
The cover for a Carranger Kit that I found in a local Chinatown. This
particular one is the Accel Changer (Turbo Morpher in PRT).
The side and back for the kit. #1 is the Auto Blaster, #2 is the Viblade,
#3 is the Accel Changer above, #4 is the Signizer, and #5 is the RV
Sword and Radial Shield.
Ryou demonstrating the proper usage of the Aura Changer (Magna Defender
Morpher in PRLG). The brace on the right is the Aura Gather, and the
left is Aura Spreader.
How the tenshin sequence works. Since this is from a Japanese magazine,
please remember to read from right to left.
A collection of little cards from Terebi Kun. The reason the background is pink
is because that's the color of my scanner's background.
The Carranger team, the Giga Formula, and Dappu, the alien that gave Carranger
their powers. Someone once referred to Lerigot as "a really short Dappu that
forgot to shave". That might've been me; I don't remember. :)
BullBlack taking aim in a cool pose.
The 1984 sentai, Super Electron Bioman. Great designs, great series. The
mechanical guy is named Peebo, and he is the advisor to the team.
The 1985 sentai, Blitzkrieg TaskForce Changeman. Another show with great
designs, and cool poses as you can see here.
The 1988 sentai, Super Beast TaskForce Liveman. I like this series because
of its interesting premise, combined with some pretty tight scripting.
The 1991 sentai, Birdman TaskForce Jetman. Almost universally loved, Jetman
is many people's choice for best 90s sentai, with my personal favorite,
Dairanger, being the only other true contender to the throne. Jetman was
good because of its great plot involving Red Hawk and his love, converted
to the side of evil.
I've set aside a special section for pics on GoGoV, since I think those pics are the rarest to find for American fans.
The newest Sentai, KyuKyu Sentai GoGoV! Big pictures of the individual
members forthcoming.
The GoGoV team in civilian clothing. From left to right, Tatsumi Matsuri
(GoPink), Tatsumi Shou (GoGreen), Tatsumi Matoi (GoRed), Tatsumi Daimon
(GoBlue), and Tatsumi Nagare (GoYellow).
The GoGo Brace - the henshin device for GoGoV. When they yell "Chakusou!",
the circle on the left with the GoGoV insignia flips off, and they change.
(Can someone give me a reasonably good sounding translation of "Chakusou"?
The best I can do is something akin to "Put on the uniform".)
GoRed, Tatsumi Matoi. Matoi is a member of a special rescue brigade.
As leader of GoGoV, Matoi has all the typical Sentai
leadership qualities: bravery, intelligence, and the ability to make wild
gestures. As eldest of the Tatsumi siblings, Matoi tends to get overprotective
of his youngers, and at times seems to fill in as a father figure, no doubt
as a result of living 10 years without a father.
GoBlue, Tatsumi Nagare. He is an expert at chemicals and is a firefighter.
When Matoi assumes the role of father, that makes Nagare the eldest sibling,
making him responsible (sometimes quite unfairly) with the well-being of
the others. Throughout all this, Nagare is faithful to his elder brother
and remains dutiful with regards to his other siblings.
GoGreen, Tatsumi Shou. Shou is a member of the helicopter brigade. He is
impulsive and has a big mouth. One of his favorite phrases is "Leave it
to me!" He often rushes into dangerous situations, but as the only
member of GoGoV piloting a flying vehicle, sometimes that's for the better.
GoYellow, Tatsumi Daimon. He is a police officer. As the youngest brother,
Daimon is often overprotected by his siblings. One incident in which, under
Nagare's supervision, Daimon tripped and suffered a head injury, led to
Matoi holding an angry grudge against Nagare for years.
GoPink, Tatsumi Matsuri. She is a hospital worker. As is usual with female
Sentai members, Matsuri is kind and caring. She is quick to attempt to
defuse a difficult situation concerning her brothers.
The Super Warrior Jeek, star of the GoGoV original video "Crash! The New
Super Warrior". From what I can tell, he harrasses the GoGoV the same
way BullBlack harrassed Gingaman. And look where that gets him . . .
Dead. And it's up to Kyoko, recurring character to help him out. This is
Kyoko in Jeek's costume.
This is called Lifebird. It splits into five different tools for the
GoGoV team to be used. It also serves as the customary cannon for the
sentai team.
Here, GoPink and GoGreen brandish a weapon introduced later in the show,
the V Lancer. The V Lancer has two modes: Lance Mode, shown here, and
V Machinegun, which is used to perform another deadly attack!
