"THE NEW-YORKER"
(Jauary 5,1981)
... But Timothy Dalton's dashing, enthusiastic Prince Barin of Arboria wears the green tunic of Robin Hood, and his woodland moon where his men are a companionable band, suggest Sherwood Forest. Arboria has a dark macho rite, though. Prince Barin and Flash are pitted against each other in a fairy-tail form of Russian roulette. They takes turns putting a hand into the crevices of a gnarled tree trunk, risking the fatal bite of the resident monster. This sequence, which evokes the illustrations in old book of children's stories, is much scarier than the futuristic torments.
...When Princess Aura (Ornella Muti) pledges her love to her handsome fiance, Prince Barin (Timothy Dalton) he says, "Lying bitch", admiringly, in tribute to her polymorphous perversity. No woman with such hot-tomato lip gloss could be faithful.
