Cordelia Chase / Charisma Carpenter
Cordelia is the most popular girl in school and someone we can probably all remember from out own High School experiences. The world revolves around her and the rest of them had better get out of her way unless they like being trampled, and that's just the problem Buffy runs into. Up until the "Invisible Girl" episode, Cordelia had really seemed one dimensional. Her purpose in life was to be popular and make Buffy's life miserable, and she didn't have any other cares in the world. But for a few moments in that episode she actually seemed like she cared about someone other than herself, and had a proble with people not listening to her. It's too bad that five minutes later she was back to her old annoying self.
All jokes aside, Cordelia plays a major role in the whole premesis of the show. It gives Buffy a challenge, someone to make sure she always remains an outsider. It also makes the show a little more realistic...I mean, how many of you went through (or are going through) High school remember doing so without the larger than life snob! In the future, I think Cordelia is going to prove herself to be a worthy ally to Buffy.
Charisma Carpenter has done many things before she ever got into acting. In fact, she never even intended on becoming an actress, she wanted to be a teacher!
Charisma's originally from Las Vegas, Nevada. She's also a classicly-trained dancer , which probably came in handy when she was a San Diego Charger cheerleader in 1991 (only for a year) and as an aerobics instructor. While she was working at the restaurant "Mirabelle" on Sunset Blvd. (waiting tables) she was discovered by a commercial agent and now acting is her life. She has starred in 20 television ads, one for Secret Ultra Dry shot atop a skyscraper being here more well-known ad. She's had a guest appearance on Baywatch and then, a short while after, secured her role as Ashley on "Malibu Shores".
In an online interview, she said that the only thing she could see herself doing now, other than acting, is writing. Hmm...I wonder if she's going to be the next Anne Rice (considering the show she's doing now).
