Returning to Stratford for his 5th consecutive season, Eric McCormack plays Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Baron Tusenbach in Three Sisters and Orleans in Henry V. His past Festival credits include performances in such productions as All's Well that Ends Well, Murder in the Cathedral, Cabaret, Much Ado about Nothing, Mother Courage, Cymbeline and Measure for Measure.
This past winter, Mr. McCormack played Hotspur in Falstaff at the Manitoba Theatre Centre, and also performed in Loretta and Her Brother, a CBC Morningside radio drama. Before returning to Stratford last season, Mr McCormack played James Hennessey in the Canadian premier of Biloxi Blues at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton and at the Royal Alexandra theatre in Toronto. His other credits include such roles as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (Skylight Theatre); Gaveston in Edward II (Equity Showcase Theatre, Toronto); and Macbeth in The Black Bonspiel of Wullie MacCrimmon (Press Theatre, St. Catherines). He is a past recipient of a Tyrone Gutherie Award and a Jean A Chalmers Award (as most promising newcomer to the Festival).

Mr. McCormack has appeared CBC-TV productions of Hanging' In, Twelfth Night, The Boys from Syracuse and Much Ado About Nothing.

In his fourth consecutive season with the Festival, Eric McCormack appears as Lord Dumaine Younger in All's Well that Ends Well, the Second Tempter/Second Knight in Murder in the Cathedral and Messenger in Richard III. His previous Festival roles include Balthazar in Much Ado About Nothing, the Young Soldier in Mother Courage, the First Lord in Cymbeline and a Transvestite in Measure for Measure.

In his third season with the Festival, Eric McCormack plays Balthazar in Much Ado About Nothing, A Young Soldier in Mother Courage, Helenus in Troilus and Cressida, adn also appears in Cabaret. His previous Stratford credits include the First Lord in Cymbeline a Transvestite in Measure for Measure, and Aegeon in several performances of The Boys From Syracuse.

Mr. McCormack trained both at the Banff Centre and Ryerson Theatre School. He spent two seasons with Skylight Theatre (Toronto), where his many roles included Romeo in Romeo and Juliet. His other credits include Antigone (Theatre Plus) and One Big Break (O'Neill's Dinner Theatre). This past winter, he played Macbeth in The Black Bonspiel of Wullie MacCrimmon (Press Theatre, St. Catherines) and Gaveston in Edward II (Equity Showcase, Toronto) and also guest-starred in an episode of Hanging' In, (CBC).

In 1985 he was recipient of the Jean A Chalmers Award.

After completing the Festival's U.S. Tour, during which he appeard in both King Lear and Twelfth Night, Eric McCormack returns to Stratford for his second season playing the First Lord in Cymbeline, the Tailor's Apprentice in The Boys from Syracuse, and a Gentleman in Pericles. His other Festival credits include appearances in The Government Inspector, Measure for Measure (as a transvestite) and two Festival workshops, This Fair Child and American Buffalo.

He was recipient of a Jean A Chalmers Award at last season's Guthrie Awards presentations.
