An Acetone Peroxide Power Test
Originally, this wasn't meant to be a power test. It was just a little fun I was having with a few grams of acetone peroxide. This was about 2 or 3 grams, not packed at all, inside of a film canister. There was some potassium chlorate and sugar mix on top, separated by a layer of tissue. Now here's a picture of what it looked like before.
Now, the fuse was lit and burned down. The potassium chlorate and sugar burned up and then the acetone peroxide went off with a nice clear bang. As I came to see the brick afterwards, I noticed that it was split down the middle and that a portion seemed to be missing. I went searching for the rest. One piece had landed about 10 feet to the left of the brick's original position, and one had landed about 10 feet to the right.
In the picture you will see two smaller pieces and two larger ones. The two smaller ones are the ones that were blown to the sides.
The lesson here is to never uderestimate the power of acetone peroxide.
