Snow Removal
Now anyone who's ever been through a Canadian winter knows how annoying snow is. Of course it's fun for boarding and the like, but when it's comes to shovelling and other such activities the snow can really suck. It's cold, wet, and heavy. So the only logical thing was to use something more powerful than a shovel or a snowblower. Now a test run is needed of course, involving small amounts. I had some 3% H2O2 lying around. Being too busy too concentrate it(outside in the cold) I used it as is. Surprisingly the yeild for the AP was about 3 or 4 grams for about 150 ml of 3% H2O2. That was more than I thought I'd get.
So here's a picture of the film canister all packed in the snow. It was nice wet packing snow - the stuff good for making snowballs with - so it was dense.
Well there's that (no fuse in the pic, but one was used). So I lit it, got back, and had some snow removed for me. Well not really removed, just kinda moved aside. But it was good enough for what I wanted.
Here's the video of it happening. You can see the lid launching off before the detonation. That's from the black powder that was at the top. I've gotta actually do something eventually to stop those lid launches.
AP charge in snow
And here in this next pic you can see how effective the snow removal is. How nice.
Now the next thing to do is see if my dad will let me clear the driveway using this method....
