The Beginning Experience is a weekend program designed to help widowed, separated and divorced men and women make a new beginning in life though a powerful, intense and positive experience of hope. It is a program open to persons of all faiths. This weekend is designed to be a time of closure on the past and a new beginning in the present. The program was established in 1974 by two women, Sister Josephine Stewart and Ms. Jo Lamia. By July 1976, B.E. was in motion on the east and west coasts and in many points in between. Today it is an international organization helping people around the world get a new start in life. The Beginning Experience has its roots in the Catholic Church. While teams usually are sponsored by Catholic or main line Protestant denominations, the programs are designed to be open and comfortable for people of all faiths. | |
