In a botched cure attempt, that Bruce came up with to cure both Thing and himself, the Hulk and the Thing switch bodies. Hulk sees Thing in his body, but Hulk doesn’t recognize Thing as himself rather an enemy Hulk sees in his dreams. The ferocity of Hulk’s attack on himself keep Thing off balance in Hulk’s body. Thing is finally starting to get the upper hand when Reed Richards interferes thinking that he is saving his friend, but he is really knocking him out. They switch back when Hulk’s body goes unconscious.
