THE DEVIL'S TOOL |
One day I was looking over some messages on some internet message boards. They were on many different Bible subjects. I saw so many beliefs That I wondered if they were all reading the same Bible. I read the words of people who are very smart, they have great minds. I stand in awe of their mental ability. When I read their conclusions I wonder many times how they can be so far from truth. I didn’t understand for awhile then it came to me through the Bible. One of Satan’s great tools is to convince man to use his own fleshly wisdom to understand God. Luke 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. 22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. 23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: Corinthians I 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. I am so glad that God didn’t plan it so only the very intelligent could understand the things of God. But He plainly shows the meek and humble who are in love with Jesus. Aren't you glad God doesn’t favor the rich, intelligent, and talented of this world to find Him? Whosoever has a hungry heart can find Him. Then I searched how does man find God’s truths. The Bible answer is God must reveal them to a person. Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Psalm 50:23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God. Psalm 85:9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land. Psalm 149:4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Corinthians I 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. Corinthians II 1:12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Corinthians I 2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. Corinthians I 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Corinthians I 2:3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. Corinthians I 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: Corinthians I 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Corinthians I 2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: Corinthians I 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Corinthians I 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. Maybe this helps to explain why there is so much confusion out in the world over understanding the Bible. It sure does give us common folks hope. |
