Open Cluster NGC 3532

Open Cluster NGC 3532
NGC 3532 is a large open cluster close to the Eta Carinae Nebula. This image shows only a small part of the cluster, which are made up of the bright foreground stars dominating the left side of the image.
The entire field is littered with distant background stars, as this cluster lies in a rather dense portion of the Milky Way.
The image covers an area of sky equivalent to about 1/3 of the full Moon.
