| Once evangelism produces a CONVERT, you must begin to help him become ESTABLISHED in his new faith. |
| "HOW?" |
| Think in terms of natural reproduction... The new born baby has basic needs that the parent must meet. The new born Christian has basic needs too: 1. Assurance(of Salvation): 2 Cor 5:17, 1 John 5:13 Teach him who he IS in Christ 2. Protection (from sin): Col 2:8, 1 Cor 15:33, 2 Tim 2:19-22 Don't leave him spiritually "unsupervised" Hold him accountable 3. Food (Spiritual): 1 Peter 2:2-3 He MUST be in the Word Regularly Teach him how to "eat" Start with "milk", gradually give him "meat" 4. Fellowship: Heb 10:24-25, 1 John 1:3 Have him in your home and visit his home Be his friend, love him 5. Training: 1 Thes. 2:11 and 4:1, Phil. 4:9 Teach him to pray Teach him how to systematically study the Bible Teach him to witness to others 6. Obedience: John 14:21, 1 Sam 15:22, James 4:17 This is the proof of conversion |
| The Disciple Maker is the "spiritual parent' and must help the new convert grow into a mature DISCIPLE. |
