A beautiful young lady with CdLS, her name is Jinn Young Yi
She is 19years old and  attending  ACTS program.

What is ACTS? : (Adult Community Transittion Servicvices) The ACT Program was established to provide a Community-based, community-inclusive, systematic approach for the transition for students experiencing Developmental Disabilities, Ages 18-22.  The major Emphasis of the student's individual educational program is based on their future needs.  "What will they do during the day when school support ceases at the age of 21 or 22?  Where will they spend recreate?  What support system will be in place for them?"  These questions provide a framework for the student, staff, family and agencies in developing a comprehensive community-based transitional plan.

The ACT program provides a systematic, coordinated approach based upon skills, recreation/leisure, independent living, and vocational skill training.  ACT provides a variety of experiences and activities so when students exit the school system, they have acquired a wide range of necessary skills and have made numerous community connections to insure a successful transition.

The philosophy of ACT is to help students develop the skills necessary to be life-long learners, capable of making choices and interacting with their community.
