Dear John,
I don't think we've met or talked before, but since you sent me your e-mail to Ben, I decided to respond.

The answer to your querie is "Yes" dispensationalists do lie. The Bible is very clear that "all men are liars"--says it twice. You look it up. What kind of a high-horse are you on? I'm perplexed. You begin by picking on something Ben stated his opinion on and go from that to making any dispensationalist a man not to be trusted! Were you trained in the cowardly art of debate by Church of Christ seminaries? That's what this sounds like--including what I am saying back to you! See how silly this all sounds?

Let's get reasonable.
Ben's statement about the prophets not understanding something is based on 1 Peter 1:9-13; which does, indeed, state that they searched diligently to understand the difference in the sufferings of Christ and the glory of Christ. If you ever face a practicing Jew, they'll tell you that's why Jesus Christ can't be the Messiah--that the prophets would have known all about this.
Yet the prophets did know about His first coming, Isa. 53, and they did know about his second coming, Zech.14. What they did not know, and what Jews today can't accept, and evidently you can't either, is that they had no way of understanding the time in between.
What I want to get across to you, John, is that the Apostle Paul received these 8 mysteries and began revealing it to Jews and Gentiles--then, to anybody, anywhere and he was the "minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles..."-Rom.15:16, (and 17 other places.)

Paul said in 1 Cor.14:37 that the things "that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord". He said he received it by revelation, Gal.1:11,12. Not only that, he was so bold as to say that he was the first to receive salvation the way it is to be received today. (But, you may have a hard time finding that in your non-KJB book. I noticed in your mis-quote of 2 Peter 1:21 that you were not using the Word. There are two errors in the verse as you quoted it. Where's the Word of God, John?)
But, in 1 Tim.1:16, Paul plainly states "...that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting". Your bible will remove the word "first". But, the greek text your bible came from had "first" in there, just as did the Textus Receptus, but your translators didn't like it so they took it out.

As to 1 Cor. 12 & 14, when you have settled in your mind that Paul is the Apostle of the Gentiles (Rom.11:13, and many others), write back and I'll explain that what the bible says and what Ben believes concerning this is not that it is not valid scripture---it's like most scripture, not valid today! Why even you don't build an ark to the saving of your household; nor do you "keep the commandments" to "enter into life" as Jesus told the young rich man in Mt.19:16-22. You see, John, the Bible IS dispensational, isn't it?

Not only that, John, but the Bible is the preserved Word of God. If God could cause those "holy men of God" to speak "by the Holy ghost" as your verse attempted to show, why would you be so bodacious as to believe that God could not keep it preserved? He said He would in  Ps. 12:7 and other places. Why not trust the Lord to have done what He said He wouold do? There's nothing wrong with believing you have in your possession the absolute doctrinally perfect word of God. Wouldn't He be a lesser God if we didn't have His "more sure word of prophecy" 2Pet.1:19?
Think on these things.
In Christ, and for His sake alone,
Jerry Lockhart
