I HATE ACCESSMICRO.COM
I'm going to tell you the
whole story. Why? because I'm going to tell it to everyone who will listen.
DON'T BUY FROM ACCESSMICRO.COM!!! What the hell do they have a web site for? I ask the person to help me with another order for a similar product, at a discount of course to match the price of the one I'm not getting. The phone support person didn't have the authority to do this for me, so I asked to speak with a superior. Fine I get the next person up the ladder of command. The 'supervisor' then tells me the same thing, "Sorry, but we sold it before you could buy it." What? I placed a confirmed order (that's what the order confirmation email indicated). |
Great, what kind of deal can you
make me on a similar product? I ask. NONE! the 'supervisor' informs me. Why?
I ask. We don't have anything similar, it was product we (accessmicro) won't
carry anymore. Fine, I say what about a discount on a similar product. Okay,
the 'supervisor' agrees to look up the product and decides the best she can
do is a $12 discount on a $212 product. The item I originally was after was
at $108 originally priced at $250. This wouldn't work, Its out of my budget,
I was lucky enough to find the first one at the super discount price and was
looking for a similiar deal.
I'm not unreasonable, I can be quite fair, but this just wasn't good enough
to come close to the original deal. I felt cheated out of what could have been
a great Christmas present for a friend. I didn't get the sense that any of these
people wanted to help me find a another product to fill my original purchase.
They asked me to find one on their website myself, digging through their lossy
catalog of products for another 2 hours I found only one product that came close.
I didn't get any suggestions from any of their people other than, Sorry, to
bad, your out of luck.
Oh yeah, one other really great comment heard several times - when I asked why
I recieved a confirmation email, isn't the product sold to me at that point.
NO! says the Accessmicro staff. They further point me to the website where it
very clearly indicates that the product is not sold at that point and that the
website is not real time stock quantity or pricing. I spent a few minutes looking
over the documents available to me or any other web user and could find nowhere
where it says anything similiar. In fact the information I came across on the
ABOUT page, and I quote, "We have achieved our goal of offering 45,000 computer
products online with real-time pricing, availability and product information."
Add this additional tidbit I found in the HOW TO ORDER page, and I quote,"You
get priority treatment. Since we encourage our customers to take advantage of
our online ordering system, you can be sure your order will receive the same
priority treatment as a phone-in order."
I purchase regularly online, I am a web savvy - e-com consumer. I spend allot
of money online. This is just not the sort of experience one expects offline
or online. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT ACCESSMICRO.COM! I will buy this product somewhere
else from someone else who I'm willing to give my money to, even if it costs
double what I would have spent at assesmicro.com.
