What is Lite-Deck? |
Lite-Deck is a lightweight Polystyrene forming system which produces continuous, load-bearing joists every 24-inches. The form sections feature built-in stiffeners which double as permanent metal furring strips. Individual sections interlock into a sturdy forming deck. Conventional, temporary shoring every 6-8 feet support the forms during concrete placement. With rebar added, standard concrete mixes are placed into the joist channels and a 2-4 inch over over the entire form. Joist depths of 6-16 inches allow for clear, unsupported spans of 30 feet or more. A wide variety of standard flooring or roofing finishes can be added to the concrete cover. Lite-Deck is the logical choice to top off walls of any high-efficiency concrete structure! |

Here you can see the Lite-Deck "beams" being set on top of the Lite-Form wall. These "beams" are 14" thick and 26' long. |
Here is the underside of the Lite-Deck construction. When poured and cured, this floor will be free span. Temporary shoring will be set until concrete above has cured for 14 days. (Pictures of shoring will be posted). |
Here you can see the height of the Lite-Deck above the foundation wall. There is no bracing or forming installed yet. This is a basement addition. The Lite-Deck above will serve as a garage floor. |
