Welcome to the IDSA Headquarters, Commander

About IDSA

If you are like me you probably feel frustrated because there is so few missions available in Frontier: Elite 2. There are only 6 types of missions in the game. And as if that was not frustrating enough you have to spend ages doing the same tedious delivery before you are finally allowed to embark on real tasks. IDSA is a low profile organization(you will not find their messages on BBSes in starports). IDSA is a secret alliance of independent developing systems. IDSA's two major goals are to create a third major player in settled Worlds and thus prevent large-scale wars between the Federation and the Empire; and to expand human presence in the Galaxy. In addition IDSA provides its members with a variety of missions and more opportunities for promotions than either Federal or Imperial Miliraty can offer.

About IDSA Client

IDSA CLIENT is a program that generates random missions for you to complete in F:E2, keeps track of your score, your IDSA rank and your current missions. It does not interface with Fronteer in any way; IDSA is a standalone application. Therefore one of the system requirements is your wild imagination :) If your IDSA mission requires you to transport a squad of 10 marines and attack a starport, don't expect the marines to show up in your passenger list; just install 10 passenger cabins and imagine they are there. Once you complete the mission, return to IDSA CLIENT and report the completion to get points.

The current version of IDSA Client can be downloaded here. You may use and distrubute it freely as long as it has not been modified.

How you can help IDSA

IDSA currently issues missions to systems within 1 quadrant of Sol(0,0) (i.e. (0,1),(1,-1), etc. are covered while (2,0),(-2,2), etc. are not). If you like the IDSA Client and wish to see it get even better, you are most welcome to collect data on systems from other quadrants and send it to me at idsaclient@yahoo.ca. The data should be in the following format:

System Name|Xcoordinate of the quadrant|Ycoordinate of the quadrant|1 if the system is explored 0 if not|1 if the system is anarchy 0 if not|starport1|starport2|starport3|starport4|starport5|

Refer to systems.txt file that comes with IDSA Client for examples.
