Limited Lettered A to Z Edition Well, here's the deal: When we went to master the tape of this event, we found that it had a few problems. One was that it had been recorded so low that we had to boost the sound, which boosted the hiss. This meant going to mono from stereo. The other problem was the piano bench. Did it squeak? Like a screen door flapping in the wind. You get the idea. However: thanks to the skilled and patient handiwork of Tad Roebuck, the tape has been remixed and remastered to a listenable turn. Well, as listenable as anything I do can get. Although not pristine, we still think it's an exciting performance and worth releasing. SO: We're making it a very limited, 26-copy, lettered edition. That way, only you and 25 other people can possibly be annoyed. Each copy will come in a square, colored plastic case, hand decorated by yours truly, and come packaged with a copy of the program handed out to the audience the night of the performance. And what of that performance? Well, for some reason, I was shot out of a cannon this particular evening and it only takes about 60 seconds for this recording to reach the level of intensity that "Wooden Box" eventually gets to. And it stays that way for the remainder of the nearly one-hour running time. It kind of sounds like "Wooden Box" played at 78, or backwards, or on drugs, or all three. Think of it as that CD's punk rock cousin. So we're welcoming orders for this nifty little item and can have them out to you right away. Let us know if you'd like it personalized. You can even choose your own colored case! ( Lime green, tangerine, purple, fuschia, aqua) Just send $8 to the usual jernt: Robert W. Getz 145 Bickley Road Glenside, PA 19038 And we'll do the rest. Thanks for listening. - Robert. |
