| I guess many people have had this problem at least once in their lives. How to select a teacher _ one that can fulfil all the needs we have. The answer is so easy: there is no guarantee with anyone. Maybe we can find someone by chance and he or she can provide us with the best kind of education we need. Sometimes, our teacher does not match with us. Teaching is an art and also a kind of psychological relationship. The teacher/learner interaction is nowadays a well-accepted concept in education. Therefore, the answer to the above mentioned question is so easy. A teacher is someone who can interact with your family, your work, your culture, and so on. While finding a teacher, I got to many points such as the preference of the foreign teachers to the native speakers! I guess you are astonished now. But listen to me: I found out that a native speaker who has acquired the language, does not have any idea what problems a student has in learning a language; on the other hand, someone who has learned a language and has had the same problems, knows how to deal with the language problems. This has especially been observed in taking tests. I have seen students who do not speak English as a native but score much higher in TOEFL than a native speaker does! Anyway, to cut the long story short, I guess a good teacher is not necessarily a native speaker and a native speaker is not necassarily a good teacher! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
