Sergei and his wife Elena have two daughters, 15-year-old Natalia and seven-year-old Elizaveta.
The couple works with Gift of Heart, a program which brings Russian children to the metropolitan area for heart surgery.
Sergei enjoys listening to the Beatles, reading history books and playing soccer and volleyball.
Shared the Stanley Cup with the NY Hockey School on Staten Island which provides equipment and the opportunity to play hockey to Russian children.
