3. Will you take in my iguana?

As of the date this is being written (01/31/01), we are unable to take in any more iguanas. Having three of our own and two foster igs is the most we are able to handle both physically and financially. Once we find homes for the two foster igs we are currently housing, we will be able to take in someone else. There is no waiting list and priority is given based on certain criteria such as health and safety of the animal in question. Due to the overwhelming number of people who ask us to take in their animals, we have decided that we need to set certain guidelines that must be adhered to, such as the person giving up the animal must provide a proper enclosure or financially contribute to obtaining one. A list of these guidelines is sent on request or whenever someone approaches us about taking in their animal.

06/25/01 Update to previous answer-

Constant requests for us to take in iguanas have ensured that we always have a full house. If you are looking to place your iguana in a new home, please visit our adoption page before sending us email, this will greatly improve the chance of finding a new home for the animal.
