Maggie is a gorgeous seal pied Italian Greyhound.  She joined our family in March, 1998, a few months before her 5th birthday.  Coming from a background of abuse and neglect, she had quite a few "issues."   She spent her 1st month with us, hiding behind the couch.  With time, love, and encouragement, she evolved into the sassy little sorceress that she is today.

In the late summer of 1998 at the age of 5, it became evident that Maggie was experiencing sight problems.  She was diagnosed with Juvenile Cataracts.
Maggie and Willy, February, 2004
Maggie was deemed not to be a candidate for cataract surgery.  She gradually lost her sight, and was blind by her 9th birthday.
This special little girl has been a constant challenge -- always scheming to stay one step ahead of us!  But she has provided limitless joy throughout her years with us.  Stubborn and difficult, loving and enthusiastic, sneaky but with the innocence of an angel -- she is a complex creature of strength and intelligence in an irresistible  little package!
Maggie began life as a commodity produced by the puppymill industry, and has had to  overcome multiple obstacles ---  socialization issues, along with health/genetic problems.

We are convinced that in a previous life, Maggie was Scarlett O'Hara . . . or maybe it was "Driving Miss Daisy" . . .
