McKenzie noticed Nick looking at her. "I swear you know everything. You have to believe me. You can't possibly believe her over me?" she questioned.
Brian went after Shayla. "You need to calm down ok," he said raising his voice. It was their first disagreement and she'd never seen this side of him. It wasn't so much that he was mad, just frustrated and he didn't like it when someone ran out on him. "I never said I didn't believe you. I do believe you. I have no reason not to but I had to ask because I have to be able to tell the lawyer everything or he won't be able to help," he said holding her by the shoulders.
Shayla embraced him. "I'm sorry, I know you're right. I shouldn't be angry at you. I just can't believe this."
"I know, but we'll figure it out. I'm not going to let her do this to you ok," Brian said hugging her. "I love you."
"I love you to baby."
"Kenz you know I don't believe her over you. That will never happen. She wants us to doubt each other, so we have to try our best not to let that happen. Brian and I will take care of this," Nick said holding McKenzie tight.
"Ok, I trust you," McKenzie said.
"Why don't you go relax for a while ok. I have some things to take care of," Nick said.
"Ok," McKenzie said. She went to the other room and laid down on the sofa. She'd soon cried herself to sleep.
Shayla was in her room laying on the bed staring at the ceiling. This was the kind of stuff she had worried about when it came to dating someone like Brian. She could handle having her name and face in the papers as his girlfriend, but this was going to make her look like a bad person and bring him down.
Shayla glanced over at the door as it slowly opened and Brian's head peeked through shyly. Shayla saw that kind, gentle and angelic smile that she loved from the day she met him.
"It's safe for you to come in. I won't bite your head off again," Shayla said smiling at him.
"That's good to hear," he said coming in and closing the door behind him. He layed down next to her with his head on her stomach and she played with his hair. "The attorneys going to check into some things. He said in a normal persons case something like this would probably get thrown out of court. But because people love to see our name in the spotlight, it's possible they'll allow the case. But we might be able to settle with her," Brian told her thinking he was making things better.
"Settle? Settle!" Shayla sat up speaking in a sharp tone.
"Now just....."
"I'm not going to settle with her. Uh-uh, no way. I don't have the money and McKenzie certainly has no money, to do that. And besides that, if I settle it looks like I was in the wrong and I'm not gonna do that," Shayla was really getting upset. "I'm sorry but what she said about you and the Leighanne thing was just wrong. I can't stand someone saying that about you." Shayla looked at him with a sexy smile. "Because it's certainly not true. You definitely satisfy me baby." she said running her hands from his chest down to his jeans zipper. Brian blushed and smiled. If there was one thing about Shayla, she wasn't shy about her sexuality. And he liked it.
Brian sat up, grabbed Shayla by the shoulders, pushed her down on the bed and straddled atop her. When she looked in his eyes she saw love and his wanting to help and also his lust for her. "If you want to fight the suit, we'll fight it. If you want to settle, I'll take care of it, but please don't let her make you into an angry person. Don't let her cause problems between us."
"Brian I can't take your money to settle with her, that wouldn't be fair," Shayla said.
"You need to remember it's not just you. It's us from now on. You don't do anything alone. We do it together," he said. He smiled and leaned down kissing her. She wrapped her arms around him and he lowered himself onto her laying on top of her. He broke away from the kiss and stared into her beautiful brown eyes and stroked her hair.
"What?" she asked.
"I kinda like it when you get all fiesty on me. You're a real spit fire when you feel passionately about something," he said.
"Well, I feel passionately about you," she said grabbing his hips and pushing him onto her causing him to moan.
"Thank god for that," he said kissing her. He ran his hands up her shirt caressing her as he kissed her, his tongue roving wildly in her mouth. They were interrupted by a knock on the door.
"UUGHH!" Shayla sighed.
"Hey guys?" Nick asked through the door.
"We're a little busy right now Nick," Brian yelled ripping Shayla's clothes off of her.
"Uh, we're gonna go over to mom's for some home made ice cream. Ya wanna go?" he asked.
Brian looked at Shayla like, What the....."We'll meet you there in a while," he said as Shayla was yanking his pants off him. Shayla giggled and they went back to what they were doing. Nick could hear them laughing and knew exactly what they were busy doing.
"Ok see ya later," Nick said chuckling as went downstairs.
"Are they coming?" McKenzie asked when Nick came back downstairs.
Nick got a wild grin on his face. "You could say that. Just not with us. Come on let's go, they'll be over later." He and McKenzie left laughing.
*The Next Day*
When Shayla woke up Brian was already gone. He and Nick had an early meeting with the lawyers to see what they could do about Mandy. Shayla rolled out of bed and went downstairs. She could smell the coffee and desperately needed some. Brian had started the coffee for her before he left and left a note by the pot.
"Baby, I love you, last night was wonderful. You amaze me and I can't wait to see you when I get home."
My love, B
Shayla smiled to herself as she poured a cup. He was so sweet and always thinking about her. She let the dogs out and sat down at the table reading the paper. Opening it up she saw the story on the second page. They'd made the news already. I was a fairly small article but it had pictures of her and McKenzie with it. The headline screamed "Twisted Sisters?". McKenzie came into the kitchen still half asleep.
"Good morning," she said going straight to the coffee.
"It won't be after you see this," Shayla said holding up the paper.
"Oh great," McKenzie said sitting down to look at it. "They sure got a hold of that fast. "So much for them not getting to know our names, there they are in black and white."
"I hope they come back with good news from the lawyer," Shayla said.
"Yeah me to. I guess we should call mom. She's gonna to hear about it and go nuts. I hope she doesn't try to make me come home," McKenzie said.
"I don't think she will. We probably should wait to call her until Brian and Nick get back, so we can tell her what the lawyer said," Shayla said getting up to let the dogs back in.
"You're probably right. How come you guys didn't come over to the Carter's last night?" McKenzie asked teasingly.
"We were a little busy," Shayla smiled. "We just needed some time alone. I really didn't feel like it after all this anyway."
"The Carter's were pretty upset. Actually they were down right mad. At Mandy, not us. They said if there's anything they can do to let them know," McKenzie said.
"That was nice. I'm glad they're being so understanding. We called Brian's mom and dad last night and they were pretty good about it to. I guess they're all just used to this kind of stuff," Shayla said.
"I say we go shopping and try to forget about all this for a while," McKenzie said.
"Sounds good to me. I can be ready in 30 minutes," Shayla said grinning.
"Cool, me too. I'll leave a message on Nick's voice mail telling them we'll be back later," McKenzie said.
Within 30 minutes the girls were on their way. They donned sunglasses and hats due to the fact that they were becoming more recognized lately and now with all this, even more so. It seemed people were just as interested in them as they were the Backstreet Boys. It seemed odd to them, but it was just something they had to deal with and were becoming accustomed to. Within half an hour they were already getting loaded down with bags. They'd purchased several outfits. Luckily they were pretty much the same size and had very similar tastes so they got a lot of things they could share. They bought some outfits for party they were having over the weekend. They also picked up a couple things for the guys. Shayla found an awesome hat she knew AJ would go nuts for and bought it for him. After two hours and lots of money later they decided to leave and go get some lunch. Before they could get out of the mall however, someone recognized them and stopped them. They'd had to remove their sunglasses while inside so they could see.
"Aren't you two the new girls that are dating Brian Littrell and Nick Carter?" the young girl asked who was with her mother.
Shayla and McKenzie were almost afraid to say yes with everything that was going on. What if they started yelling at them, but Brian and Nick had told them to be nice no matter what, whenever someone approached them.
"Yes we are," said Shayla. And your name is?"
"I'm Amber and this is my mom, Kim," the young girl said. "I'm a very big fan of the Backstreet Boys. Especially Nick Carter," she said blushing.
"Well that's sweet, thank you. It's nice to meet you. I'm McKenzie and this is my sister Shayla. We'll tell them you said that." McKenzie figured it was ok to say they're names now that it had ended up in the paper.
"Could I have your autographs please. If it's ok?" she asked.
"You want our autographs?" Shayla asked surprised and confused.
"Yeah, please, do you mind?" she asked again with a pleading look in her eyes.
"Of course you can," Shayla said sweetly. "It's just strange to us that someone would want our autographs. We're not used to that yet," she laughed.
"Believe me, to the fans you're just as important to us. At least those of us who respect the girlfriends and want the boys to be happy," she said.
"Awww, that's so sweet of you. Well we'd be happy to," McKenzie said.
The girl pulled out a piece of paper and pen and handed it to Shayla. Shayla signed it and handed it to McKenzie then gave it back to her.
"Wow you guys are sisters?" she asked seeing their last names were the same.
"Uh-huh, we are," Shayla told her. "Well you're very sweet and we'll be sure to tell them we met you."
"Thank you, you're both very nice, and so pretty. It was very nice meeting you. Thank you so much," Amber said.
"You're welcome. It was nice to meet you too but we really have to be going. See ya around," Shayla said.
"Goodbye," said the mother. "And thank you for your time."
"You're very welcome," McKenzie said.
The two girls left to go find a restaurant and get some lunch.
