*The Day Of The Party*
Shayla and McKenzie were running around all morning and afternoon getting things for the party that night. Brian was cleaning the house and Nick was visiting Brent. Brent had called him saying he really needed to talk to him, so he decided to go see him. The party was going to be a pretty big one because it would be the last party before the guys left to finish working on the new album. Besides the guys and some of their friends, the band and dancers were invited, along with the record label and management people and a few other artists they knew.
AJ must have called Shayla's cell phone five times asking about different things. Did she really like Kimmy and what did Brian say about her, what should he wear, should he dye his hair, should he cut it? He was driving Shayla crazy. They stopped by Jen's to help her pick out an outfit that was sure to knock Kevin's socks off. Finally they made it home, much to Brian's dismay because they were running so late and began setting up. Shayla thanked god they'd decided to have the food catered so she didn't have to mess with that too.
An hour and half before the party, Shayla finally was able to get into the shower and get ready. It was so relaxing to feel the hot water beat down on her taking away the stress of the day. At least the party would be fun and they had all really been looking forward to having a good time. She was standing under the water leaning her head back with her eyes closed when she suddenly felt hands wrapping around her waist.
She jumped and gasped almost screaming aloud until she realized it was Brian. He'd slipped into the shower so quietly she hadn't noticed. Brian's hands were wrapped around her waist and he started kissing her neck and shoulders sliding his hands down around her butt lifting her a little.
"Brian, what are you doing? We don't have time for this. We have to get ready," Shayla said however, she really didn't want him to stop. He felt so good next her. She let out a soft moan as his hand slid between her thighs and she felt him getting harder as he pressed against her.
"We always have time for this. It's a rule," he said lifting her up so she wrapped her legs around his waist. He leaned her against the shower wall and began thrusting into her over and over at a fast pace.
"Oh Bri, I love you," she moaned as he came.
"I love you too," he said resting his head against the wall still holding her up. She took his face in her hands and kissed him. She unwrapped her legs from his waist and he lowered her down. They finished showering and had just gotten out of the bathroom to get dressed when there was banging on the bedroom door.
"Brian! Shayla!" Nick hollered.
"Geez Nick," what are you yelling and banging on the door about?" Brian barked opening the door a crack. Nick saw that they were both in towels with wet hair.
"Oh sorry," Nick chuckled. "You guys need to come downstairs right away. It's important."
"What is it? Is something wrong with McKenzie?" Shayla asked.
"No nothing like that. I just need you to come downstairs," Nick said.
"Why? What's so important? We need to get ready," Brian said impatiently.
"You'll see, just hurry up," Nick said leaving.
"Fine, we'll be there in a minute," Brian said closing the door.
"You go ahead. I have to dry my hair, or I won't be ready on time," Shayla said as Brian dressed.
"Ok," he said. He came up to her with a big grin on his face and wrapped his arms around her. "I love you," he said running his hands under her towel as he kissed her. He started to get a little too frisky again. "I can't get enough of you."
Shayla pushed him away. "Uh-uh, you'll have to wait until later," she giggled removing his hands. "Now go on. Go see what's so important. I have to get ready."
"Oh alright, but this better be good," Brian grumbled. He walked downstairs to find Nick. "Yo Nick! What's the big deal.....oh hey Brent," he said upon seeing Brent in the kitchen with Nick.
"Hey Brian, wassup man," Brent asked.
"Not much. How ya feeling? Ya look good," Brian said.
"Thanks, I'm doing much better. In fact that's why I'm here and why I called Nick today," Brent said.
"He's starting to remember things about the accident," Nick said.
"Oh like what? I mean what's it got to do with being so important to me?" Brian asked.
"Well for starters, he thinks Mandy may have caused the accident on purpose," Nick said grabbing beers out of the frig for all three of them.
"What?!" Brian practically screamed. "Why would she do that? I know Mandy's done some pretty off the wall things in the past, but why would she do something like that?"
"I can't remember. It's only coming back in bits and pieces," said Brent. "But I keep seeing her crying over Nick and something about her wanting to make him feel sorry for her and for dumping her. And then the only other thing I remember is seeing the telephone pole and that she was driving straight for it, with this look in her eyes like I'd never seen before," Brent explained.
"Are you sure?" Maybe it's just a side effect from the accident and you're imagining these things. I just can't believe she'd do something like that where it would hurt herself and you. Was she trying to kill herself or just hurt herself?" Brian asked.
"I don't know, that's the parts I still don't remember. But what makes it weird is she doesn't want me to remember. She's doing everything she can to talk me into not trying to remember," Brent said.
"Something's definitely wrong with this picture," Nick said. "Why wouldn't she want him to remember unless she had something to hide?"
"Yeah sounds like it," Brian said thinking.
"So, we came up with a plan to try and find out what she's up to," Nick said.
"Like what? I don't know if it's a good idea to be making up a plan to trick her," Brian said being skeptical.
"I really don't want anything to do with Mandy. I don't know what got into me that night to be with her but we think maybe I should pretend to like her and go out with her. You know try and get close to her and maybe she'll tell me what happened, or I may just remember," Brent said.
"I don't know you guys. This could backfire in a big way and she's not someone ya wanna mess with. Maybe we should just let your memory come back to you," Brian suggested.
"But what if it doesn't? And we don't have time for that if she's up to something. Plus it could just get McKenzie and Shayla out of this mess a lot quicker if we found out she did it on purpose. I know I'd do anything for McKenzie. Wouldn't you do anything for Shayla?" Nick asked.
"Of course I would," Brian said defensively. "But I don't know if this is the way to do it."
Nick and Brent looked at each other and then at Brian. He knew they were gonna do it with or without his blessing. "Alright, alright, we'll give it a try. But if it's not working by the end of summer, or it gets weird or out of hand, you put a stop to it. I don't want her taking any revenge on Shayla. Or McKenzie. I don't want them hurt," Brian said firmly.
"Well it's a good thing they're going with us to Sweden, so we don't have to worry about them," Nick said.
"Worry about who?" Shayla asked coming in at the end of the conversation. "Oh, hey Brent," she said in a tone that was cordial but she wasn't happy with him for being with Mandy that night. And really wouldn't be happy when she found out what they were up to now, Brian thought.
"I'll talk to you about it later hon," Brian said. "Daayuum," he said checking out her outfit.
"Thank you," she said. Shayla didn't feel comfortable with the way Nick, Brian and Brent were looking at each other. But she trusted Brian so she'd wait until later. She had to go finish setting up some last minute things anyway. McKenzie was already over at Brian's telling the Caterers where to put things, so Shayla went to help her.
Brian, Nick and Brent finished discussing how this plan was going to play out. Brent was going to try and get close to Mandy and pretend to not like McKenzie, knowing Mandy would take the bait to be around Nick and hopefully make him jealous and want her back. And Nick would play the part and flirt with her and pretend to be having problems with McKenzie when she was around to make Mandy think she could break them up. He just wondered how McKenzie was going to feel about this and he knew he was playing with fire. He just hoped they didn't get burned.
